About Hale & Heart

Hale and Heart leather goods are designed and crafted in Maryland, just a few miles outside of Washington, D.C. All of my products are thoughtfully developed with longevity, strength, and aesthetics in mind. Many of the materials used are sourced from right here in the United States, such as leather tannned in Maine, thread produced in Maine, and hardware cast in Massachusetts. I stand behind everything I make and guarantee the stitching to last a lifetime.

Meet Listelle

I grew up in Maryland and joined the Army in 2010. I traveled the country, visited some new parts of the world and learned a lot about myself. In 2012, I married my better half, Nick, another soldier that also grew up in Maryland. So when we finished out Active Duty time, we came back home. I joined the Reserves, went back to school and fell in love with leathercrafting.

The Story Behind the Corgi

While I was deployed, I dreamed about coming home and getting my very own Corgi. The idea of her put a smile on my face everyday. So when I came home, not a month later, I met Indy and took her home. Indy is a purebred Welsh Pembroke that came from a lovely family and let us adopt her because she was missing her full blaze. But she was perfect in my eyes and I couldn’t hope for a better friend. So as I came to love the leather goods I was crafting, she was the first thing that came to mind to serve as my maker’s mark.
